She took me to her secret place... (Read Moon)
It was around 11:30 PM. I was rushing toward the main building when I met her near the main building circle. Without a word, we proceeded towards the department-side road, passing through Netaji Audi Road. My heart raced—not just with excitement but with a strange sense of paranoia. I kept glancing around, half-expecting someone to be tracking us. Near the back gate of TOAT, I spotted five to seven people lingering in the shadows. *Uff.* "Where exactly are we going?" I finally asked. "Just walk," she replied, a playful glint in her eyes. We reached Nehru Museum, and she led me to the back gate. At the very end stood a locked door. She turned to me with a smirk. "Let me show you some magic." I watched as she pulled out a bunch of keys from her pocket and attempted to unlock it. At first, I thought she was joking. But to my surprise, the lock clicked open. *(Why the hell is this lock so cheap? It looked like something you'd use on a bicycle, not on KGP infrastructure.)* A mix of fear and curiosity stirred within me. As she pushed the door open, the space inside revealed itself—pitch dark, coated in layers of dust, as if untouched for years. "Don't worry, just come," she said, stepping in. Then, she shut the door behind us. In the dim glow of our phone flashlights, I saw a narrow vertical tunnel-like structure with an iron staircase leading upwards. "Can we go somewhere else?" I hesitated. "Trust me. You're going to love this," she assured me, taking my hand. With no other choice, I followed her. The climb was eerie—thick cobwebs, fluttering pigeons startled by our presence. At one point, a pigeon nearly landed on my hand, making me yelp. She laughed softly and consoled me before we continued. Finally, we reached the top. The moment we peered out from one of the open windows, it felt like stepping onto the surface of the moon. The strong wind howled around us, carrying away the exhaustion from our struggle. The view from that height was breathtaking, an ethereal blend of solitude and serenity. We sat there for nearly two hours, talking about everything—philosophy, life, and her poetry. She unraveled deep meanings behind her words, each line feeling like a secret she was slowly letting me in on. At around 2 AM, we prepared to leave. Before stepping down, we stood by the window one last time, letting the wind embrace us. The moonlight bathed her face, her open hair tingling in the breeze. She looked mesmerizing—too perfect for reality. I found myself just staring at her. "Why are you looking at me like that?" she teased, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. Then she said something that left me frozen. "You can kiss me if you want. But just once. And after that… we will never meet again." I was completely thrown off. I never had any intention of kissing her. It wasn’t about that. But the weight of her strange condition made my mind spiral. *Why would she say that? Why would one kiss mean the end?* Carefully, we descended the stairs. This time, I didn’t struggle as much—not because I was more confident, but because my mind was tangled in thoughts of her words. She locked the door behind us, making sure no one was watching. We walked in silence until we reached SNIG. I stopped her, holding her wrist. "Where are we meeting tomorrow?" She gently slipped her hand away, shrugged, and walked towards the gate. I watched her go, unable to make sense of anything. Then, suddenly—she ran back. Before I could react, she pulled me close, pressed her lips against mine for a fleeting second, and whispered in my ear: *"Ask on Reddit."* And then she was gone. I stood there, stunned. My thoughts spiraled, my mind replaying every moment, every word. Even during today’s exam, I couldn’t focus. What just happened? Did I mess up the whole chemistry, or was I just a part of something I didn’t understand?4
