DOUBT REGARDING MATHS MINOR

I am a second-year student, and I am interested in taking math courses for a minor during 5th sem. If I take a math course as an additional in my 5th sem but, at the end of 5th sem, if my CG is above 8, will that count for minor? Also any advice regarding math minor?
