Mechanical Engineering Branch Status

Hi I am an undergraduate studying in a tier 3 (autonomous private college). I want to pursue postgraduate because I want to improve myself and be better and also heard Mtech at IIT's have good placements. My college currently has worse placements. Didn't had aero club and automotive club is a mess. My highest achievement is Attending an International Conference conducted by IIT Madras and presented a poster in the conference. I want to join Mechanical Engineering tho I am really interested in aeronautics area like designing military aircrafts, conducting FEA to analyze their performance in different environments, but I want to join Mechanical Engineering because I feel like choosing aeronautics would narrow my career options. So what are your thoughts on Mechanical Engineering Branch in IIt Bombay? Is it have good professors? Is it have good machinery? Is the machinery advanced or traditional?
