Why are people so allergic to lane driving.
I have recently moved to Hyderabad from Bangalore. I was very enthusiastic to see sych great infra, wide well maintained roads (around Gachibowli hitec city area). I was happy that I would have good commuting experience. But a few weeks in the roads, I am feeling frustrated with barely anyone following lane, vehicles being driven in the middle of lanes blocking two lanes simultaneously. Moreover there is constant unnecessary lane cutting, I can see they are not reaching any faster, just building up traffic. And the most annoying of all: taking u-turn from the left most lane, forcing the right lane vehicles to get stranded, and wasting green light time. Though there are some good measures like the barriers for preventing corner cutting, which are appreciable; but in general, if people just follow a little bit of lane driving, I feel a lot of congestion issues will get solved in itself. The roads are so good and wide (as compared to a lot of other cities), why can't people just drive/ride a little more responsibly. Traffic control can play a huge role in this, but they seem to be not bothered at all.4
