Mandatory telugu !!!
'The Telangana government has directed all schools, including those affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, IB, and other boards, to teach Telugu as a mandatory subject for students from Class 1 to 10 starting from the 2025-26 academic year' is what the clipping said. The comment section was filled with praises for government decision and how it is a great move to uphold the telugu pride. Me being from an ICSE school has a face palm moment. Am not sure what discussion went behind this decision making but this is my perspective on this. Icse and cbse board are group of schools with a common curriculum across the country. People who are moving across the states especially because of the job market or any personal reasons don't have to move from board to board. So now someone who has moved to Hyderabad for work has to join their child in some school. Usually the preference would be some CBSE school. Now imagine the struggle of the child who has to learn a whole new language which he has even never heard of. That would be a total disaster for the kid. In ICSE english is the first language after which we can choose any language as second language including telugu. If the parents want their child to learn Telugu it's always an option. Unnecessary imposition of such rules does more harm than good. Such descision or taken by politicians to please the shallow mindset of low IQ crowd who went to school but lack critical thinking. What's ur take on this ? Excuse my frustration over a series of nonsense decisions this govt takes. If someone thinks if there is an upside to this decision which am failing to understand feel free to explain. Edit 1- I see that people butt hurt already. That was the reason I asked how people should develop critical thinking. In this state there are schools under 3 boards - state board, cbse , icse. 95% of the schools are already under state board where learning telugu is already mandatory. Those 5% schools under other boards have it already as optional. So when to remove that 5% choice as an option it becomes impositions. People commenting saying that u couldn't learn Telugu inspite of it being ur mother tongue then go question ur parent on why was telugu not chosen for u. Some people are obnoxious saying that if u wanna be here learn Telugu or go back to ur own town and search for opportunities there. Telugu people are the last ones who have the right to say that. So if u wanna be xenophobic also be ready to face it else where.5
