I’m gonna say it
This is not a rant. There’s so much disparity in what the city can be and its current scenario. Hyderabad is in identity crisis. It’s a city pretending to be a tier-1 city behind all the high rise buildings, whereas so many basic things are not there, the roads compared to other metros are narrow, they are not equipped to handle the traffic once all the high rises get occupied with each flat having at least one car and you can only build so many flyovers. All the good food is only available in old part of city and new part is just selling wannabe and subpar Hyderabadi food and has mediocre cafes. Food adulteration cases doesn’t stop coming. People working in customer facing jobs like stores, malls etc are good hearted but lack the skill to sell or converse with customer. The newer part is so separate from old Hyderabad, you miss out on the culture of good ol hyderabad. I hope the government don’t just make high rises to make the skyline better and also focus on the ground reality P.S. : I realize it is unfair to compare roads with other metros, but in general I do feel there are problems with the road infrastructure which can be fixed. My personal opinion is even in peak hours it shouldn't take someone 40mins to travel 3km, or it shouldn't take someone 40mins to leave a mall on a Sunday.5
