Canara Bank charges on deposits

canara bank is asking 188 rupees to deposit 1 lakh into my bank account(savings account). To pay my college fee I headed to canara bank to deposit and pay fee through net banking, they are asking 188rs per every lakh deposited I did pay my fee last sem the same way and they didn't have this extra 188rs/lakh policy then. Can anyone tell why there is a charge to deposit my money into my account?
