Bad Experience with friends on New Year

So, my friends and I (2 guys and 2 girls) from college had plans for New Year’s Eve. The girls suggested we go to an event, but I invited them to my flat instead. They said the vibe wouldn’t be right and suggested a pub instead. We agreed but mentioned we’d join them at 10 PM due to prior commitments. The girls decided to head to the event at 8 PM to get tickets and have some food, and we were fine with that. We called them before leaving, and they sent us the location. When we arrived, they came out with two other guys, introduced them as office colleagues, and asked us to get tickets to join them inside. We asked when the event would end, and they said midnight. We felt it wasn’t worth paying 1500/- per person for just one hour. The worst part was that they didn’t mention they’d be with other guys when we called earlier. It felt like we were just a backup plan for them. To top it off, we traveled for 3 hours in traffic to and fro. It was a terrible way to end 2024 and start 2025. Just needed to vent about this frustrating experience.
