Mahakumbh

Namskaram, I see so many posts claiming that the 2025 Kumbh is a Maha Kumbh that happens once every 144 years. However, I remember that 2013 was also advertised as Maha Kumbh, which made me wonder about the accuracy of this claim. Some news sources suggest that the Uttar Pradesh government now refers to every 12-year Kumbh as Maha Kumbh, which adds to the confusion. This made me curious—when was the last traditional Maha Kumbh (the one that truly follows the 144-year cycle) held, and when will the next one take place? Also, are there any Vedic texts or astrological references that define the timing of a true Maha Kumbh? Any insights would be appreciated.
