If past life exist why we don't remember?

> Because you cannot handle those memories This is an usual answer but it doesn't explain why I don't have those memories even though they are easy for me to handle. I am free from my thoughts and emotions so having emotions and thoughts of past life wouldn't bother me at all. I am confident that nothing can sway my peace other than my own choice. I even believe that I can maintain peace while being burnt alive. Although my body would react due to subconscious memories and instincts my conscious mind can maintain its cool. Whenever I feel pain my subconscious mind and body reacts but I make sure my conscious mind doesn't take part in the pain.
