Contradiction?
Edit 2: I have received my answer, I didn't fully know what Lakshmi represented So recently this contradiction has come into my view. So most (if not all) gods preach that you should detach from wealth and that wealth doesn't matter. But then you see that Vishnu is literally married to Lakshmi... Then you see that most gods are adorned in at least some jewels in most depictions (but let's ignore this point since it might be artwork symbolism). Then you remember that when Lakshmi got cursed and disappeared into the ocean. The entire divine realm went into total panic and they literally churned the ocean to get her back... So yeah, they preach detachment from wealth and that money corrupts but they themselves love money so much? Can someone explain the reason? Edit: so y'all are saying that it's about detachment from money rather than its possession. Firstly, thanks for your answers. secondly, my point still stands because based on what I've read about the divine realm, it's supposed to be a true communist society (which means a lot of things but in this context, it's moneylessness). but the existence of Lakshmi and her being important enough to send the divine realm into mass panic seems to suggest there is a *need* for wealth, which goes against communism. So it's still a contradiction2
