4 Ashrama | Four stages of life | Questions
Recap: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXtK40EgJb4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXtK40EgJb4) 1. Brahmacharya (Student Stage) * Age: Birth to \~25 years * Focus: Education, self-discipline, celibacy, and character building. * Responsibilities: Learning from a guru, gaining knowledge (both spiritual and worldly), and preparing for future duties. 2. Grihastha (Householder Stage) * Age: \~25 to \~50 years * Focus: Family, work, wealth creation, and societal contribution. * Responsibilities: Marriage, raising children, earning a livelihood, and fulfilling social and religious duties. 3. Vanaprastha (Retirement/Forest Dweller Stage) * Age: \~50 to \~75 years * Focus: Gradual detachment from material life and transition to a more spiritual existence. * Responsibilities: Handing over family responsibilities to the next generation, practicing austerity, and seeking wisdom. 4. Sannyasa (Renunciation Stage) * Age: \~75 years onwards * Focus: Complete renunciation, devotion to spiritual enlightenment, and seeking liberation (moksha). * Responsibilities: Leaving behind worldly ties, practicing meditation, and dedicating life to self-realization. ------ I see some older people/parents suffering through and their sons/daughters are suffering through, fights, property issues etc, too much attached. Instead I think old people should just leave. I plan to do the same in few decades(I am currently in Grihastha stage), because it makes sense. What do you folks think? Would you consider doing it? Shouldn't we create Vrudhashram specifically with this in mind for easier transition? How practical do you think it is now?4
