Traffic on NH44(Ambala -Delhi stretch) is getting worse-any solutions?

I frequently travel on NH44, especially between Ambala and Delhi, and the traffic situation has become unbearable lately. Being from Shahabad Markanda( I live at walking distancefrom the highway), I use this route often, and I’ve noticed that congestion has increased significantly, particularly near toll plazas, major interchanges, and cities like Karnal and Panipat. What’s even more frustrating is that the traffic is bad even at night. Earlier, night travel used to be a good option to avoid the rush, but now, even after 10-11 PM, there are long queues, slow-moving trucks occupying all lanes, and unexpected slowdowns. It’s getting difficult to plan smooth trips, even at odd hours. The expressway diversions have helped in some places, but overall, the bottlenecks are still there. Trucks clogging up the lanes, constant roadwork, and poor lane discipline make it a nightmare to drive on. Are other regular travelers facing the same issue? What do you think could be done to improve the traffic flow? Stricter truck movement regulations, better lane enforcement, or maybe more flyovers at key junctions?
