Working professionals who are shy, where did you find people to date?

People who are working, where did you find someone to date or be friends with, pls don't write dating apps, its not for everyone, also im a guy and it didn't work for me at all. I'm always in dilemma on where to find people plus i have a shy nature, have difficulty to connect with people upfront, pls suggest some places where i can connect with people.
