Nearly got hit by a car because of stray dogs chasing me

I was returning home late night yesterday around 11pm ish, the road to my building is fairly wide toh I always keep my distance from the stray dogs over there, I don't look towards them, maintain distance, do everything correctly. There were these 2 dog lovers feeding some of the dogs and one of them was barking aggressively at me(approx 10m away), again I chose to mind my business because that's what we're always told ("arre bhaiii, dogs will never attack unprovoked brooo, you mustve scared it brooooo, why dont you just ignore broooo") All of a sudden I hear the dog chasing behind me and another one joined it, at first I tried standing my ground and shooing it away which worked for a second, but then suddenly from the other end of the road 4 other dogs ran towards me at full speed, I obviously panicked(don't you dare blame me, I'm not taking my chances against 6 dogs) and made a run for my building gate. I had to cross the road and in my panic I didn't notice a fast passing car, luckily I escaped and only brushed my arm against the car mirror. 1. Koi pls batao, can I leave my building safely? These dogs are right in front of my building, will they remember me? 2. What the f\*ck is wrong with people feeding dogs, you are just causing them to multiply with a sh\*tty quality of life, you yourself will never adopt them bcuz they're not aesthetic enough for you and your virtue signalling only extends so far 3. Anyone saying dogs don't attack unprovoked is plain wrong, they do. You say "hey man, they get shitty treatment by some people who throw stones." Okay?? But then why should I have to run the risk of getting mauled for absolutely no reason. 4. I'm able bodied and in my early 20s toh I can still somewhat defend myself. What about a senior citizen or a mother with their child? This could've ended horribly for them.
