Concerning incident
This morning, I was going for an appointment with my mom through ragvendhra marg and I see this puppy (street dog) wriggling on the road and the car that hit it, looking at it and doing nothing…. My mom kept telling the man to take the pup to a hospital and the man ignored us, watched the puppy die and then replied to us by saying that it’s dead and there’s no point. He drove away after that. I started crying and refusing to look at it when a fruit vendor came to our car’s window and told us to leave it since it’s not breathing. We had to leave immediately and unwillingly for our appointment which was very important but we returned after 45 mins to see if there’s even a little chance of it being alive and alas it really really wasn’t. We had got out of the car to check that and all the passerby’s or you can say fruit vendors had this smile or a hint of amusement on their faces looking at me crying and my mom trying to do something for the puppy. I am honestly so shocked by the lack of empathy in the citizens of our country for humans, let alone an animal. So many people and animals die on the road and NO ONE gives a shit… All they do is crowd around the place, take videos and circulate it in WhatsApp groups while people are taking their last breaths. I’m so appalled by even thinking about things from their perspective and how they can ignore or do stuff like this and live with it. Continuing the incident, there was a small pet clinic in front of the road and we went there and they told us to call the MCG to get the puppy buried. I called like 5 helplines (searched on the net) and 1 worked but said they don’t deal with these incidents… I’m just hoping for some policeman to notice it and take necessary action (not like they care or will) I’m so so disappointed in our law and order system. Sorry for the long post and I’m requesting everyone to please please drive safer, responsibly and PLEASE be more empathetic.1
