Any assistance would be great

So I took commerce in 11 and 12 th (CBSE). I'm becoming a pilot and hence need to write NIOS physics and maths. This maybe a stupid question, but, do i need to go to a school or college to do these nios exams ? For the learning part obv. Or can I sit at home for the one year and study it myself.... And also would I even need to do all this if I took science in 10 th grade Icse and did well? Tyy
