Do we not need to send physical copies of our documents for a computer number now?

A few months ago, someone posted a PSA saying that sending physical copies of our documents for a computer number wouldn’t be required. Is it true? It’ll be a big relief for sure if it is, because I do not have a physical copy of my 12th pass certificate; only the copy on DigiLocker. It would reduce the headache of getting the documents attested by a gazetted officer too (unsure about this; please let me know) I’ll be grateful for your input.
