What should I have done?
Peak hours. Crowded metro. I somehow managed to get past the gate while keeping my hand protectively over the back pocket of my jeans where I keep my wallet and while I was trying to navigate through the tightly packed crowd towards the centre of the compartment, I unintentionally touched a woman down there. Realising what had happened, I immediately apologised without even looking at the woman and when I was in a comfortable position, I turned back and apologised to her again. It was totally unintentional but I got a very disapproved look from that woman. She was clearly uncomfortable and I could see that but as I mentioned twice, it was unintentional. I could feel the weight of her unease in her eyes. I wanted to say that to her that it was an accident but I just couldn't. I thought of standing somewhere else to make the situation less awkward but as the metro was very packed, I couldn't move much. After around 10mins Rajiv Chowk came and some of the passengers went out and I went to the adjoining compartment. I feel bad about the whole scenario. Even now I can't shake the guilt and discomfort that is looming over me. What more should I have done to make it right?5
