My girlfriend was mad at me, so I made her a website. Now she won’t stop smiling.
So, my girlfriend was really mad at me. Not the playful I'll ignore you for a few minutes kind of mad—this was the not replying to texts, leaving me on read, and sending cold one-word responses kind of mad. And yeah… I messed up. It wasn’t anything huge, but I forgot something important, and she wasn’t letting it slide. I knew a basic I'm sorry wouldn’t cut it. Flowers? Too predictable. Chocolate? She barely eats sweets. I needed something different. That’s when I had a dumb but brilliant idea—what if I made her a website? Well, not me exactly, because I have zero web development skills. So I found this guy on Instagram who makes custom websites, and for just ₹49, he said he’d create something cute and romantic. A few hours later, he sent me the link, and it was actually perfect. The homepage had a little animated I'm Sorry message that typed itself out, followed by a button that said Click if you still love me. When she clicked it, a bunch of hearts floated across the screen. Scrolling down, there was a gallery of our best (and most embarrassing) pictures, a playlist of songs that reminded me of her, and at the bottom, a countdown timer leading to a surprise date night I had planned. I sent her the link with no context. Just hey, check this out. Then, I waited. And waited. She left me on read for a whole hour, and I was sweating. Then, finally, she replied. You're such an idiot. I love you. Safe to say, I’m back in her good books. And honestly? Best ₹49 I’ve ever spent.1
