Is Public Education not important to Delhites any more ?
Ignore for a minute that the guy is founder of IPAC. If you think about poor or lower middle class families across India, it's only the ones in Delhi and few others that have access to good quality public education. It seems like we have given up on the idea that we can make government schools of a quality that competes with private schools. I think an education is one of the only way to break the cycle of poverty and I'm surprised that the idea seems to be losing its importance. What do you guys think ? Spend the education budget on subsidising education in pvt schools or make govt do that only for urban areas but continue to build and maintain great govt schools in rural areas ? Or stop spending on education and make everyone go to a pvt school ? Our spending on education has been consistently poor at the Central level. Do you think that trend will now be reflected in the Delhi State Government as well ?4
