Delhi is casually racist and proud
Early morning airport overheard (I was minding my business so I don’t know what the context was but they came and sat at the same table as me and this just stood out for obvious reasons) Aunty sitting in a restaurant serving Karanataka food “Ae Karnataka Waliya te kaliya kaliya hundiya ne” (Karnataka women are too dark skinned) I almost gasped and looked up from my plate at her. And she chuckled and gave me a look as if saying ‘Amirite?!’ I wish I could say this was the first time I heard an educated/affluent person talk like this in Delhi but alas…. Edit - Ppl who are defending the aunty, can you pls talk to the ppl who are saying I’m generalising? Thanks2
