transportation for long trips

hey everyone, i wanted to get some details on what the best transportation would be for a group of friends to go to places like anaikatti or Valparai. For a group of 7-8 people, instead of getting two different cabs is there an option of getting one car like an innova or tavera? I did consider rental cars but college students and night drives haven't always ended well. It would be of great help if you guys can help a fellow redditor out. Thank you, in advance!
