Siren cars in Coimbatore

Yesterday, I went out of my home only a couple of times, once in the morning and once in the evening. Surprisingly, I saw a lot of Government cars than we see normaly in Saibaba colony, Koundampalayam, and Thudiyalur. A couple of them even had siren lights (without sound) and they were in a hurry in the evening. Anything special going on in Coimbatore?
