Need Suggestion for 1 day Trip Jan 1 from CBE

Hey, I am planning for a one day trip to kerala border areas, Could you pls suggest some places or areas to visit.. We have two modes of transportation one is through two wheeler and other is bus or train. Pls suggest accordingly
