Need some good school recommendations !
**Hey folks!** So, I’ve got a 2.5-year-old little whirlwind at home, and it’s time to find him a preschool near **Ramanathapuram for the 2026-2027 academic year.**. And wow, what a task! I toured four schools—**SSVM near Perks, Prakriya near Olympus, Carmel Public near Olympus, and Vibgyor near ESI**—with some basic expectations: ✅ A good balance between academics & playtime ✅ Creative activities to keep the tiny human engaged ✅ Fees within **₹1.5 lakh** After all the scouting, I *kind of* landed on one school, but I’d love to hear from you if I’ve overlooked something. Also, if you know other good schools in **Sungam, Ramanathapuram, or Singanallur**, drop your suggestions! Now, here’s my quick take on each: # 1. SSVM (CBSE) – Near Perks **Pros:** ✔️ Big name, great infrastructure **Cons:** ❌ Feels a bit *too* commercial—frequent extra charges for “value-added” services ❌ Admission process felt off—₹1,000 just for a form, plus an *interview* for a 3.5-year-old? Come on. Every child is unique! ❌ Timing for higher classes stretches till 4 PM—not a fan. **Verdict:** Left with the vibe that they’re running a business more than a school. Not for me. # 2. Prakriya (IGCSE) – Near Olympus **Pros:** ✔️ Super polite staff, gave us a full school tour ✔️ Decent infrastructure **Cons:** ❌ Fee was **₹1.3 lakh + ₹70K admission + extras**—way beyond my budget ❌ School leans heavily on devotional practices, and I’m raising my child as a freethinker. Wasn’t sure if that would lead to biases in food/culture/etc. **Verdict:** Loved the hospitality, but the philosophy didn’t align with ours. # 3. Carmel Public School (CBSE) – Near Olympus **Pros:** ✔️ **Very affordable—₹60K/year** ✔️ I studied here, so I know they’re chill with leave policies and no class hierarchy nonsense. **Cons:** ❌ Not much focus on creative development—just your standard academics. ❌ **Mandatory religious practices**—prayers and devotional activities are compulsory, especially for Christian students, which feels restrictive. **Verdict:** Safe and economical choice, but the rigid devotional policies were a deal-breaker for me. # 4. Vibgyor (CBSE) – Near ESI **Pros:** ✔️ Best school tour—no pressure, no admission form fees, just proper information. ✔️ **Sports & arts included**—6 hours/week for drama, music, dance, and sports (football, basketball, cricket nets, swimming pool!). ✔️ Budget-friendly with **₹1 lakh for pre-KG, ₹20K increase per level**—manageable. ✔️ Parents get to see their child’s progress in sports & activities every 3 months—love this transparency! **Cons:** ❌ *Newer school*—not as established as the others. ❌ No non-veg allowed in lunchboxes—bit of a bummer. **Verdict:** Liked the overall vibe, curriculum, and transparency—this was my top pick. **Final thoughts:** Vibgyor felt like the best balance of academics, creativity, and budget for us. But I’m open to thoughts! If I’ve overlooked something, misjudged a school, or if you know another great option, hit me up. **Suggestions for schools in Sungam, Ramanathapuram, or Singanallur are super welcome.** Thanks, folks! 😊4
