Autos are a huge menace in cbe
I came to cbe from blr recently and my god it's so terrible. My house is barely 4km from the Gandhipuram bus stand and at 5am, red taxi doesn't work, and you're just stranded unless you pay 300-350 rupees. I've seen a lot of people arguing that apps like Ola, Uber etc doesn't pay their drivers properly and they have to operate at a loss but 300 rupees for 4 km is literally crazy fr. And it's so unsafe for women as well if you try to ask them to reduce to a reasonable fare. What do you guys do if you have to take your sick parents or grandparents to a hospital??? I had to take my mom to the hospital that was 560 m away literally, and I booked an Ola ride that showed 63 rupees. It's half a kilometre so okay whatever that's the minimum rate so I booked it. For like 10 mins, the auto didn't even move until I called him and he asked me to pay literally twice the amount - 120 rupees. For half a kilometre. Is this shit even reasonable??? This experience with autos here is really souring my experience in this city. I mostly take the autos to places since I'm not completely familiar with the bus routes and because of such poor service, it's frustrating to go anywhere in this city. Let's not even talk about how there's barely proper pavements so it's not walkable either. Ugh.2
