Tips to improve from Elo 1500

I've been playing chess since my childhood. I have been in the 1400-1600 elo range for a while. I find difficulty with two things primarily: 1. Difficulty in memorizing and executing standard moves in the openings 2. Making blunders or inconsistent moves when nothing seems to happen in the middle game. What are some things I can do to improve my game?
