New year events on Marina or Elliot beach or some other beach ?

Vanakkam Chennai, is anyone aware about any events or celebrations happening on the beaches on the new year. Me and my friend are away from home this year and wanted to do something atleast on the new year, except of just rotting in our room. Any information would help a lot. நன்றி!
