Road rage and how to handle it.
Yesterday I was driving peacefully back from my work, my wife was with me in the car. And suddenly one auto driver decided to unload his pent up anger on me in a traffic signal stop at Tambaram. The whole incident was silly actually. On a signal while all were waiting, he kept honking for me to move ahead to break the signal so he can go ahead. I didn’t budge and waited till the light turned green. He followed me for a while and cut me off, got of the auto and started yelling, threatening to harm me physically. Calling me every word he could find in the dictionary of swear words in Tamil. “Rich people don’t understand the pain of hard working auto drivers”. B!tch, you have to work in my office to see how hard we work to get to where we’re. No disrespect for others but this regressive mentality got to change. Most are not like that. Actually one myth was busted yesterday. My friends used to tell, big luxury cars are mostly safe from road rage because people won’t pick fight easily with them. Such fools they’re to believe that 😂. Anyway I got the whole incident recorded on my dashcam. As the traffic police walked towards us the auto driver fled the place. I was too excited to share the footage with him but he was not interested, I explained him the situation for traffic hold up, and I was let go. /Rant Over! Now coming back to the AskChennai thing. Is using pepper spray legal in our country? Or at least in Chennai? What are the legal consequences for it? For safety of my family and myself I’m strongly considering to buy one. Please suggest.3
