Rapido and Carpooling
I saw a post couple of days back in this subreddit, that a traffic police stopped OP because rapido is banned. And one of the comments also mentioned that carpooling is banned in Bangalore and it's about time that it also hits Chennai. It made me curious. 1. How is it enforceable? I mean, what if we are just friends and are going in the same car? How can it be technically defined as to what constitutes car pooling? 2. Rapido is not a commercial "taxi" in the conventional sense as they use private vehicles with a white number plate. It's also more of a combination between "pooling and taxi". How will this be banned and how can it be enforceable. What if it's just like 2 people who know each other are going on a bike? Will they stop everyone and ask them to open the app? Maybe they can ban the app, but for sure we can know that phone numbers will start circulating around or bike taxis in itself will start roaming the streets like autos. I might be wrong, but would really like to know what you guys think.4
