One night in chennai before flight

on monday next week i will be arriving from tiruvannamalai, and i have a 5am flight from chennai airport. i’m thinking either leaving tiru by taxi at 11pm directly to chennai airport or leaving tiru early morning arriving chennai by noon and spending some time in the city- in which case i will have to take 1 night hotel and leave to airport around 2am (i have a trolly suitcase and a backpack) i cling to the second option- and i wanted to asks for your opinion, as well as an area to spend the afternoon and evening in chennai (plus a hotel to drop my stuff)? thanks 🙏🏻
