Equality??

Today, I shared a post on social media highlighting how we speak out against the dowry system and how it’s now time to raise awareness about the growing trend of false alimony claims. The response I received from a female friend was so astonishing that she listed all the “world problems” and also pointed me for “blaming women for everything”. I mean what? Its not about men or women, it’s about being fair. The conversation with her triggered me a lot. She also mentioned that, because of my privileged background, I'm unaware of the horrific crimes that women generally face (though I’m not here to argue about who suffers more). Being a girl myself, I support equality and I do agree that women in comparison face a lot of problems. But that doesn’t mean we avoid the injustice against other gender. I was also told that just because a small percentage of women misuse the system, it doesn't justify such a reaction. For the sake of my mental peace, I chose to end the conversation there.
