Moving to Chandigarh from South!

Hi all, We are a family of 3 (29m , 29f & baby boy) moving to Chandigarh sector 16 in few months. It would be of great help for us if the following queries are answered. 1. How safe is the city for women and children ? (Like any other average indian, my family's safety is of utmost importance for me and I'm bit worried seeing the earlier post and comments in this sub) 2. Will a salary of 1 lakh per month be enough for a non-luxurious yet comfortable living for a family of 3? Will it be possible for me to save/invest some of my salary? 3. What would be the rent of spacious 2BHK or 3BHK individual houses or apartments in sector 16 and nearby. (My office is located in sector 16 and I prefer the house to be located at a walkable distance or like within 10 minutes of reach from house by bike.) 4. What measures should we take to manage the extremes of weather conditions in Chandigarh? 5. Do you have any other valuable inputs that you would like to give to a late 20s ambitious, hard working middle class guy who is going to work and live in Chandigarh for another 4-5 years.
