Expanse of regional movie shows in cinemas.
So I really love watching good movies. And watching them in theaters adds a whole extra layer to the experience. Chandigarh theaters are infamous for not releasing enough niche movies. And on top of that, they make it more frustrating by not giving them the screens they deserve (Interstellar). But recently I have seen a shift in landscape when it comes to regional cinema(non Punjabi), which includes Tamil, Telegu, Malyalam, Kannada and Himmachali language movies. And that's why I was able to watch some great cinema on the big screen (Bramayugam, Thallumala, Malaikottai Vaaliban). And most of the audience I encounter in these shows are native speakers of that language, as maybe not everyone is comfortable with subtitles, or aware of these masterpieces releasing in cinemas. Earlier these shows were just limited to Centra or Elante but now you can also see these movies getting shows at VR or Mohali Walk. I would love to see this evolve into something like Delhi's cinema scene where every movie gets atleast one show, as its really saddening to see only popular movies getting like 10 shows a day or all the shows of the PXL audi.3
