E20 in India

Folks , Everyone knows E20 fuel will potentially harm the engines/pipelines with accelerated corrosion and E20 reduces mileage by 5-10 percentage. Most of the vehicles may not even be compatible for E20. But how come there is no big reaction from the general population to the planned big push of E20 instead of current petrol. We are offended by lame jokes but this which hurts our quality of living, no body bothers, why? Could you please educate me if iam missing something?
