Are door visors actually useful?

I’m unsure whether to install them on my new car. Here are my thoughts : Pros: 1. They prevent rainwater from entering through the gaps in the glass windows (is this even true?). 2. They allow the car’s windows to be lowered slightly without letting rain into the cabin. Cons: 1. I’m not a fan of over-accessorizing my car, and I feel door visors ruin the overall look (but that’s just me, when it comes to accessories, to each their own, right?).
