Wake up babe, looks like a new PUC scam just hit the market.
We to renew my scooters Polution Under Control (emission)certificate, had a couple of people lined up with their vehicle for testing. Observed that he was giving out the certificate, but wasn't actually testing the vehicles. On enquiry he mentioned the device isn't working and the checks were done on "server". I was a bit distracted as I was speaking to another customer and didn't notice what was actually happening. He was taking a snap on his phone and sending it to a WhatsApp group. And within 2 minute s my certificate was ready. The data was a bit off from my previous certificate. I also suspect that there was a delay because one guy was getting the certificate for a bunch of vehicles using the older certificate. Imagine unfit vehicles getting a clean certificate. Every freaking thing is a scam now. I'm not sure how to validate my certificate and also on how to report it to proper authorities. Location: Bangalore North.1
