Tata and Mahindra’s competitive pricing will make it difficult for Tesla to succeed in India, says former NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant....!!
Speaking at an event, he stressed the importance of India becoming a global leader in EV manufacturing, especially in the two-wheeler and three-wheeler segments, where it has a strong export presence. He warned that failing to electrify these segments could weaken India’s market position. Kant also urged the government to set an example by adopting EVs, stating, “Every Indian should switch to EVs, and the government should stop purchasing fossil fuel cars. It should lead the way in EV adoption.”4
