Mercedes E class or BMW 540i for my Father

Hi all, my father is 61. He is confused between e class and BMW 540i. We live in Mumbai. Which one should he take and why? E class is costing around 10 lakhs extra (5 lakhs less on taking Daman and Diu number plate) Edit- he also likes driving, but not long drives, only within the city.
