How to overcome societal/family pressures of going over my budget in buying a car?

I was looking to buy a Alto K10, but my issue is my concern about what friends, colleagues, extended family would think after this purchase. Not only that, immediate family might also be concerned about buying something this low in price. My requirement is simple, to buy something that will take me from A to B. Theoretically, it might be easier to brush off what society thinks about my purchase and practically it worked for my smartphone. But for cars, it might be a different ballgame here. I earn 10 - 11 L post-tax but I would not want to spend so much on a depreciating asset with an EMI, considering I’m from a metro and live in an expensive locality
