Change my mind: Virus was not responsible for Roy’s suicide
I believe student suicides are often caused by parental expectations rather than teacher pressure. Parents sometimes set unrealistic goals, prioritizing success over their children’s interests and emotional well-being. In 3 Idiots, Joy Lobo’s suicide, while triggered by his professor’s actions, reflects the deeper issue of constant pressure to meet societal and parental standards. This overwhelming burden can lead students to feelings of isolation and despair. I think real change starts with parents creating a supportive environment, focusing on their children’s passions and well-being rather than rigid expectations.2
