The marketing for Bollywood movies sucks
1. These guys contribute absolutely nothing to actual filmmaking in any way. 2. "Humble and relatable" reels, stupid games like "truth and dare" and "never have I ever", shoving so-called actors down everybody's throats on social media is their way of working which causes way more harm than good. 3. All these overagressive PR and marketing strategies are actively tarnishing the industry's name among people along with remakes and biopics. People find this a total turn-off. Mrs is an example of a recent movie that was released without much noise and found success and acceptance by everyone. 4. There is no discussion about the art and craft of writing, filmmaking, acting, cinematography and other departments. This would be interesting and beneficial to everybody involved, the people who put in all the hardwork are gonna get appreciated and the audience is gonna be interested in watching the movie and supporting their efforts. But the interviews nowadays are so fake and carefully micromanaged that nothing is interesting or organic anymore. 5. PR agencies help their clients live in complete delusion thinking that the audience actually likes them whereas nobody gives a flying f\*ck about most mainstream movies and new celebrities nowadays. This makes the actors ask for more fees thinking he/she has a bigger market value which is in no way true. Only the Khans are mostly infallible, and even the other two are struggling at the box office now. Ranbir is another one whose upcoming projects sound very high-concept and seem like sureshot box office winners at this point. Movies now have budgets that are ridiculously high. We aren't seeing low budget passion projects or even middle-of-the-road Ayushmann movies anymore. Because of all the hullabaloo they cause talented artistes and movies made with true passion are getting sidelined on release and are rediscovered on OTT platforms if they are lucky.4
