Ta Ra Rum Pum Appreciation Post
I have vague memories from when my mum showed us Ta Ra Rum Pum when I was little, but I properly watched it again yesterday. Huge respect for the director of this movie, it taught me a whole lot about life. I think the **biggest** takeaway from this movie is the need to plan for tomorrow, not just today, especially in terms of finances. Director did a good job to make the audience emotional about this - the fact that both the parents had to do odd jobs (such as RV driving a taxi despite his liking) to support their family, and the children had to be deprived of things as simple as food - during the Saiyaan song, Champ takes a half-eaten sandwich out of the dustbin and Rani takes home a lot of free snacks from the venue at which she performed. Saiyaan is a great song to show people back home the struggles that people who flee from their home country face in other countries such as the UK, US, Australia, etc. **If you save money, money will save you.** https://preview.redd.it/fw02mx3fvl7e1.png?width=964&format=png&auto=webp&s=1090d3fde52c64902e53f002998c77224a100ab5 https://preview.redd.it/262lvd2dul7e1.png?width=762&format=png&auto=webp&s=4c6c562ba6210e3db6ea4461683364cd1689fad7 https://preview.redd.it/qnhzyp3qul7e1.png?width=783&format=png&auto=webp&s=fa00cb36acf4f314bfc55117d98d49a295a2f6c5 Other significant takeaways are the unpredictability of life, value of family, importance of unity, perseverance, what true love actually is (not just between RV and Rani, but both parents are their children alike). The emotional strength of the two parents is admirable, although they were going through a financial crisis in which they barely managed to feed their kids, let alone themselves - they still persevered and got through the hard times. I think this is a testament to what true love really is - supporting each other. Princess showed great maturity as a character to understand the financial situation and start saving herself and inform her younger brother too. https://preview.redd.it/l9w7nuunvl7e1.png?width=813&format=png&auto=webp&s=1275e1f3f6dd6f8061057a9dae46be3cc6fcf2ab This movie has made me more aware of being wise with money, not wasting food (because many people around the world do not have such a privilege), being emotionally strong (facing the consequences), and valuing family. It's definitely a 10/10 for me, and I'm sure it is for other people. Ta Ra Rum Pum is and will be my favorite movie for a long time to come. Forgot to mention, props to the director for portraying NYC as such a lively and eventful place - the architecture, people, etc.3
