SRK's experimentation

In 1999 and 2000 SRK did 2 films which found huge amount of love on TV and YouTube Baadshah and Josh Both these movies did reasonably well at the Box office also Baadshah and Josh had huge openings, both of them found a spot in the Top 10 highest grossers of the year in 99 & 00 respectively & both of them has respectable footfalls Baadshah had 1.10 cr footfalls whereas Josh had close too 1.40 cr footfalls. But both were considered underwhelming at the box office. Is that the reason SRK stayed away from action and comedy movies for a long time After Josh the only proper action movie SRK did was Raees and then Jawan and Pathaan The Don movies were thrillers more or less Whereas after Baadshah SRK never ventured into comedy movies at all Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om,Chennai Express, Dilwale and Happy New Year has funny but they were classified as masala movies Had SRK ventured into more action and comedy movies his downfall in the late 2010 would've been averted and he would've been considered more as a versatile actor . Also he's very witty and good with action. I think I he would've done quite well in these two genres. Do you people think that these movies are the reason SRK stayed away from action & comedy.
