Finally watched this movie, ik I’m late, and had some questions/things I noted and would like to discuss. (All religious conversations aside).
If Karsan, the protagonist, was so aware of everything and smart and educated and whatnot, why did he call his fiancee “used” and “second-hand” and similar stuff upon catching her in the “seva”? I am not starting any conversation on people’s preferences of partners with or without any past sexual relations, but I think we can safely assume that the guy who wanted reforms for widows and was trying to eradicate untouchability would not immediately have THAT concern when finding his fiancee in that position with a person he for sure believes is scammy. Also, he knew she was fully brainwashed, and instead of trying to make her see reason and get out of that quicksand, he left her. That doesn’t really go with the character of a man who is super curious about why so many things happen, is supposed to be logical, and is trying to bring about active changes in the society. I just want to know if this seemed like a really convenient ooc thing to move the plot along to others also, or just bad story-writing lmao.5
