Has Bihar changed in last 15 years?
I left my hometown Muzaffarpur after 10th for studies almost 15 years back and Inalways thought I will eventually come back when things change here. Now, I travel twice every year and I see most of the things either the same or worse except few developments. My take, things improving - - New malls shopping complexes and eateries coming up. - Zomato and Swiggy operational now - Some taxi services (mostly intercity) available - Crime is low now as I have seen some very bad years during Laalu raj. - One new darbhanga airport (managed very badly but still) Things not improving - - Road condition ( new roads gets damaged in a year and then remain that way for next 19byears) - Civics sense - Hygiene (Naalas open all around) - Casteism (All people talk is about who is of which caste, even now) - Lack of job opportunities - Per capita growth in terms of earnings (most of the people are still poor or borderline middle class like always) Things going bad - - Traffic ( very bad now considering huge increase in population and no infra growth) - Pollution ( a general North India problem but dust pollution is out of hands) In general, I am unable to think of a single reason I should move back other than my parents staying there who will eventually move with us in coming years. What do others think?3
