Need Help: My Car Rented on Zoomcar Has Been Impounded for 9 Months

Hi everyone, I’m in a very distressing situation and could really use some advice. Last year, I rented my car on Zoomcar from May 30th to June 2nd. Since then, I have not gotten my car back. It’s been almost 9 months, and dealing with Zoomcar has been a nightmare. After repeated attempts to get in touch, their lawyer finally called me and informed me that my car has been impounded by the Bihar police. Apparently, the person who rented my car used it to smuggle a huge quantity of alcohol. Since the smuggler wasn’t caught during the incident, they charged me—the car owner—as an accused. The lawyer told me I need to: Go to Bihar to get bail for my name. File cases in the civil court, DM court, and then the high court to get my car back. They also said Zoomcar cannot help me further. I hired a lawyer to handle this, but after 9 months, there has been no progress. This situation has taken a massive toll on my mental health. My family, work, and studies are all suffering, and I’m experiencing severe anxiety and depression because of this ordeal. I feel completely helpless and stuck. Has anyone faced a similar issue or can guide me on what to do next? Are there any legal steps I can take against Zoomcar for their negligence or lack of support?
