Don't pay heed, don't engage with someone's Prejudice
I am not from Bihar. But I understand the pain of normal well meaning, civilized Biharis when they are abused with racial slurs by judgemental people. I'm not saying these people hate you, they dont, but their experiences are probably shaped by things they see in the news, on social media or their personal experiences. Obviously, a migrant labourer is someone who isn't secure about his next meal or whether he has a job the next day, because let's face it, human capital is not valued because it is available in excess. So all he cares about is to get through the day, consume cheap liquor, send some money back home even if they're living in inhumane conditions. Law and order, civic sense are not a priority when you're not sure if you'll live in the next day or not. From my understanding, Bihar has been plagued by consistent anarchy, lawlessness, lack of resources and blatant corruption, something most states have/are experiencing in hopefully a much smaller scale. What i want to say is, just because someone has a prejudice against you, is calling you something you don't identify with, please don't engage, don't justify or explain, because when you do that, you're feeding their egos and giving them the power to control your emotional state. These people would have been the same had they faced the same systematic mismanagement that Biharis have experienced in their state. They are just fortunate enough to that they didn't face the gunda raaj and political mujra. I hope Bihar changes for better, i bave hopes from PK. Maybe it will. Hope for the best.2
