Why can’t we celebrate like rest of the world

Yesterday I was at MG Road and it felt like going in a queue line for Tirupati Balaji darshan. Except for some street lighting, there is nothing much done. City could have lit up iconic buildings and managed some firework or drone show. All these make the city and public spaces more fun. Came across this news report from Indian express https://indianexpress.com/photos/world-news/new-year-celebration-2025-live-9753950/ Look at how creative cities do it abroad. Don't say population. New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong are equally or more populated. Don't say it's a western concept. There were lakhs of people on streets yesterday celebrating the new year. It's no longer a western concept. I wish our cities are more accommodating and they plan such celebrations so people can actually have some good time.
